The untouchable.

How many people have you seen barenaked? I haven’t seen much but the light was cast in the right direction and it was more than enough to make me appreciate beauty.

Often times, people need an overexposure to something to get the bigger picture. I don’t think I’m one of those people even though my vision is far from 20-20. The darkness can be deceiving, yes, but my perception to it is one that cannot be taken for granted.

All the light in the world can never replace the beauty that I found in you amidst the darkness, amidst the chaos, amidst the uncertainties. I know there could have been more, but now is the time to move on, to accept the reality that yours was the only beauty cast upon by the dim light to have been truly appreciated.

I love you. I love you not.

There is always something you can do.

A friend told me a dreadful story. Last night, he was out with some friends. They were on their way home when they heard a girl screaming for help from a distance. It turned out that she was being beaten to the pulp. The guy was literally banging the girl’s head to the gate.

As my friend and his friends were approaching, the man that the girl was with called out my friend’s name and told him to back off, and that he “got this”. My friend didn’t do anything. He backed off. His friends told him that they should help but my friend told them off and said that he didn’t want to interfere. He knew the guy that was beating up the girl and he didn’t want to get involved, he didn’t want any friction between him and the guy because they were old buddies. More than that, they used to play basketball together. This is just one incident, God knows how much more of this happens everyday, everywhere.

This is what you read in Philippine literature, what you see in Filipino movies. There is always someone you know who fucks someone’s life but you choose to go blind because of “pakikisama” (camaraderie) or “utang na loob” (debt of gratitude). You may find my naivety funny but I just wish that each one of us should at least try to change this attitude. Maybe, just maybe, a little effort can make all the difference in the world.

This pretty much sums up everything. I'm lazy photoblogging like that. Hehe. If you're my contact on Multiply or Facebook, you can check out more photos there.

Props to JL for the photos. His shots are way better than mine. Hehe.
